Read your school’s dress code. If it says not to wear shorts, don’t wear shorts. By following the rules, you’ll avoid embarrassment and the chance of being sent home early.

Don’t save your school shoes for the first day – break them in a week or so in advance so you don’t end up with blisters on your feet during the first week which is typically the most stressful week of the school year.

Don’t wear clothes you’ll have to baby-sit. If you’re constantly trying to pull down that skirt – it’s probably too short. Trying to keep the top up? It’s probably lacking a proper neckline. Wear clothes that are comfortable, that you’ll forget you are wearing.

Streamline Your Studies

When studying, make it a point to get comfortable. Tight fitting or ill fitting clothing or shoes will not enhance your study session in any way. Wear something casual and loose fitting. Rule of thumb is if you can forget that you’re wearing it, you are free to focus on studying.

Find a quiet place to study and remove all possible distractions. Turn off the TV, radio, roommates, Mp3 player and other noise makers.

Work in a clean “study space.” Scattered junk creates unnecessary distractions. If you are studying in your room, make your bed, pick up your clothes, take out the trash, and organize the room so your mind can focus on what you are doing rather than what should already be done.
